What Are VRM Lookups? Print

  • 0

VRM stands for **Vehicle Registration Mark** — the registration number plate on a vehicle (e.g., AB12 CDE).

**How VRM Lookups Work:**

When VRM lookup is enabled on your plan, your customers can enter their vehicle's registration number into the widget instead of manually selecting the make, model, generation, and engine from dropdown menus. The system automatically identifies the vehicle and populates the details.

**Benefits of VRM Lookup:**

- **Faster for customers** - One field instead of four dropdown selections
- **More accurate** - Eliminates guesswork about which generation or engine variant
- **Higher conversion** - Easier process means more quote submissions
- **Professional appearance** - Adds a UK-style registration plate input to your widget

**How Credits Work:**

Each time a customer enters a registration number and the system looks it up, one VRM credit is used. Your monthly allowance depends on your plan:

- **Standard:** 650 VRM lookups per month
- **Premium:** 1,500 VRM lookups per month

Credits reset on your billing date each month.

**Note:** Manual vehicle lookups (using the make/model/generation/engine dropdowns) are unlimited and do not count towards your VRM allowance.
